Preview: Spokane at Victoria, Friday Jan 2nd 2015

The Victoria Royals (18-18-2-1, 39pts) entertain the Spokane Chiefs (21-12-3-0, 45pts) for a pair of back to back games Friday and Saturday.

It’s the second meeting of the season, as previously Victoria fell 4-2 in Spokane on November 26th.

The Royals snapped a 5 game winless slide with a 4-0 shut out over the visiting Cougars last Sunday afternoon, and earned a split of the two game set.

Austin Carroll led the way with 2 goals and an assist, while Coleman Vollrath made 38 saves for his 3rd shut out of the season.

The Chiefs are riding a 7 game win streak after dropping the Americans 10-2 at Tri City on New Years Eve.

The’ve allowed the 2nd fewest goals against on average per game in the league, and boast the 4th best road win percentage with a record of (12-5-1-0).  Spokane is riding a 5 game road win streak.

After a pair against the Chiefs, the Royals entertain the Tigers on Wednesday before another pair against the Cougars the following weekend.
