Preview: Victoria at Seattle

It’s a battle for 6th in the West as the Victoria Royals (16-13-0-1, 33 points) are on the road to take on the Seattle Thunderbirds (16-14-1-0, 33 point) in their first meeting of the season Tuesday night.

The clubs are tied for 6th in the Conference with 33 points each, however Victoria has a game in hand.

Last season the Royals won once, and fell twice in a shoot out in the four game season series (1-1-0-2).

Victoria most recently edged the visiting Swift Current Broncos 2-1 Saturday night.  Austin Carroll scored the Teddy Bear Toss Goal, and Brandon Magee was credited with the game winner.  Adam Lowry, Head Coach Dave Lowry’s son scored the lone tally for the Broncos.

Seattle had their four game win streak snapped with a 6-2 loss versus the visiting Portland Winterhawks on Saturday.  During the winning streak the club scored 20 goals in 4 games.

The T-Birds are 4 over .500 at home (8-4-1-0), while the Royals road record sits at (6-8-0-0), after winning their last 3 away from home.

Both the Thunderbirds and Royals have won 6 of their last 10 games.

Seattle’s netminder Brandon Glover hails from Victoria and has 15 wins in 27 games.

After Seattle, Victoria’s 3 game road trip takes them to Red Deer and Edmonton before the Christmas Break.
