Head Coach and GM Marc Habscheid: (taken from Times Colonist)

Rookie Scoring Leader: Logan Nelson
Not to make excuses, but it just seems that that first game back from a road trip is always and adventure and this was an adventure,...We just didn’t have energy tonight. We were a step behind, made mistakes and they took advantage of it...We’ve talked about it. We get on our heels and go from there. Our first periods haven’t been good to us, for sure,”

Calgary’s Chase Clayton had a hat trick too, and #1 star Jimmy Bubnick had 2 goals and  2 assists.  Cody Sylvester had a goal and two assists, while Danny Gayle had 3 assists.

Zane Jones scored the other goal for the Royals and added an assist, giving him 4 points in 2 games.  Kevin Sundher’s helper extends his point streak to 10 games and 61 points on the year – good for 5th in league scoring.

Ben Cooper, assistant Coach of the Royals post game comments:

Jaynen Rissling fought twice in the second period, cutting Robin Soudek above the eye in the first altercation, and then was bested by Tim Traber.

Victoria product Brandon Glover made 22 saves for his 10th victory of the season, while back up Jared Rathjen made 18 in a losing cause – it was his 4th career start.

This weekend the 8th place Royals will entertain the 7th place Kelowna Rockets twice, Friday and Saturday night.  The Rockets have a 3 point lead with 2 games in hand.  Victoria is 2 points up on Prince George who have a pair in hand as well.  Catch all the action on the Zone at 91.3.
