Royals Prospects At 2015 Winter Games

ROYALS’ PROSPECTS SET TO PLAY IN 2015 CANADA WINTER GAMES
Victoria’s Scott Walford, Ryan Peckford, Brayden Pachal and Dylan Myskiw will participate in 2015 Canada Winter Games.

Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals today announced that signed prospects Scott Walford, Ryan Peckford, Brayden Pachal (PUH-hall) and Dylan Myskiw (miss-QUE) will represent Team BC Under-16, Team Alberta Under-16, Team Saskatchewan Under-16 and Team Manitoba Under-16 respectively at the 2015 Canada Winter Games that begin tomorrow in Prince George, BC. The hockey tournament kicks off on Sunday, February 22nd and finishes on the final day of the games on March 1st.

Walford a native of Coquitlam, BC skated in his first two career WHL games for the Royals on January 2nd & 3rd vs the Spokane Chiefs. Walford currently plays for the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) Midget Prep Team of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. In 40 games for the OHA, Walford has registered eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points to go along with 57 minutes in penalties.

The 6-0, 185 lb defender was selected by the Royals with the club’s first round, 18th overall pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Peckford who hails from Stony Plain, AB skates for the St. Albert Sports Raiders of the Alberta Midget Hockey League. Peckford has tallied 30 points (14g-16a) and 22 penalty minutes in 29 contests.

The 5-11, 170 lb forward was drafted by the Royals in the second round, 31st overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Pachal, a 5-11 160 lb blueliner has appeared in 37 games with the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League and has posted 18 points (3g-15a) and 38 penalty minutes.

The Estevan, SK product was the Royals’ second round, 40th overall selection in the WHL Bantam Draft this past spring.
Myskiw, a Winnipeg, MB native currently plays for the Winnipeg Thrashers of the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League. With the Thrashers, Myskiw has posted a record of 13-7-0 with two shutouts to go along with a goals against average of 2.44 and a 0.917 save percentage in 22 appearances.
The Royals selected the 5-11, 155 lb Myskiw in the sixth round, 112th overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.

For the tournament each provincial team will be placed into one of three pools (A, B & C) and play a round-robin format. The top three teams from Pools A & B as well as the top two clubs from Pool C will advance to the elimination rounds of the tournament. 

Victoria will now take to the road for a three game in three night road trip beginning with a stop in Kelowna tomorrow night. Victoria will then head to Kamloops to face the Blazers the following night and then finish off with a contest against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday, February 15th.
