SCOTT WALFORD NAMED TO HOCKEY CANADA’S UNDER-17 SUMMER DEVELOPMENT

BC- The Victoria
Royals are pleased to announce that defenceman Scott Walford has been invited
to attend Hockey Canada’s Under-17 Development Camp, which runs from July 29th
to August 4th in Calgary, AB.
Players
selected to Hockey Canada’s Under-17 program will compete at the 2015 World
Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which is scheduled for October 30th – November 7th
at a location yet to be determined.
The
6-0, 185 lb defender took part in the 2015 Canada Winter Games last February
with Team BC and collected three assists and four penalty minutes in six
contests.
A
native of Coquitlam, BC, Walford spent the 2014-15 season with the Okanagan
Hockey Academy Midget Prep Team (OHA) of the Canadian Sport School Hockey
League. Walford played in 28 games with OHA and collected 21 points (6g-15a) to
go along with 20 minutes in penalties. Last season, Walford also appeared in
his first two career WHL games for the Royals.
Walford
was Victoria’s first round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft, selected 18th
overall and has been signed to a Standard Player’s Agreement by the Royals. He
will attend Royals’ Training Camp in August.
