COLEMAN VOLLRATH NOMINATED FOR VAUGHN CHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK

BC- The Western
Hockey League today announced that Victoria Royals’ goaltender Coleman Vollrath
has been nominated by the WHL for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week.
The native
of Calgary, AB appeared in two games for the Royals this past week and registered
a 2-0-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals against average (GAA), a 0.950 save
percentage (SV%).
The 6-0,
170 lb netminder turned aside 38 of 40 shots in the two contests, as the Royals
defeated the WHL-leading Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1 on Friday night and the
second place Kelowna Rockets 4-1 on Saturday.
This marks
the third time this season and fourth of his career that Vollrath has been
nominated for the award. Vollrath won his second career Vaughn CHL Goaltender
of the Week award in October of this season.
In 39 games with Victoria this season, Vollrath has posted a 22-12-0-2 record with a GAA of 2.38, a SV% of 0.915 and one shutout.
Vollrath is
in his fourth and final WHL season and has registered a mark of 74-47-4-6 to go
along with eight shutouts, a 2.75 GAA, and a 0.910 SV% in 153 games played.
Vollrath holds the Royals/Bruins all-time franchise record in wins and games
played.
Victoria
will host former Royal defenceman Keegan Kanzig and the Calgary Hitmen on
