Victoria acquires
1996-born forward Oleksyn from Calgary.

Victoria,
BC – The
Victoria Royals today announced that the club has acquired forward Braden
Oleksyn (1996) from the Calgary Hitmen in exchange for forward Landon
Welykholowa (1996).
Oleksyn
has played seven games with a plus-two rating for the Hitmen so far this
season. The 5-10, 190 lb forward spent the 2012-13 season in the Saskatchewan
Junior Hockey League with the La Ronge Ice Wolves where he collected 28 points
(11g-17a) in 50 games played. The Saskatoon, SK product was originally selected
by Calgary with the club’s third round, 60th overall, choice in the
2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
Welykholowa
joins Calgary after posting one goal and a minus-six rating through 18 games
played this season with Victoria.
