Marsel Ibragimov off import waivers from Edmonton.

BC- The Victoria
Royals claimed 1997-born defenceman Marsel Ibragimov off of WHL Import Waivers
today from the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Kazan,
Russia native was drafted in the first round by Edmonton in the 2014 CHL Import
Draft (58th overall). Ibragimov has skated in one game for the Oil
Kings this season.
Last season
Ibragimov suited up for Moscow Dynamo’s U-18 team. During the 2013-14 season
(regular season, tournaments and playoffs) he competed in 58 games notching
eight goals and nine assists for 17 points along with 10 minutes in penalties.
The 6-2,
197 lb defenceman was selected in the second round with the 52nd
overall pick by Dinamo Minsk in last year’s Kontinental Hockey League Draft.
Victoria
has placed 1996-born Slovakian forward Kristian Ferletak on WHL Import Waivers.
The Royals
begin a season long six game road trip tonight with a contest against the
Calgary Hitmen. Puck drop is scheduled at 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).
Victoria
will return home for a pair of games vs. the Vancouver Giants on Friday October
24th and Saturday October 25th. Friday’s contest
marks the unveiling of the Royals third jersey, while Saturday’s game is the
