The Royals earned home victories Friday and Saturday by 5-3 and 5-4 scores.  It was their 12 straight Saturday night victory dating back to a loss to the Cougars on Dec.27th.

Brandon Magee was named CHL Player of the Week after scoring 5 goals in the two games, a hat trick Friday and a pair Saturday.  He earned the game winning goal both nights.

Friday night, Victoria overcame a 2-0 first period deficit with a 4 goal second period an added an empty netter for the 5-3 win.  Prince George was 3 for 4 on the power play.

Saturday, the Royals took a 3-2 lead into the third, but the Cougars twice found a way to draw even.  It was Magee pulling the club ahead twice and his second of the night held on for the winner.

Royals netminder Coleman Vollrath earned a second straight win making 30 saves, while his counterpart Ty Edmonds kicked out 20 shots taking back to back losses.

The Cougars power play was effective again going 2 for 6, and a combined 5 for 10 in the two games.  Another goal came with an extra attacker on a delayed penalty, leaving 1 out their 7 goals coming at even strength.

The Royals struck out on both man advantages, going 0 for 5 in the series.

Prince George got a pair of goals from defenseman Tate Olson (3 goals in the series) while Zach Pochiro and Chase Witala added singles.  Brad Morrison (4 assists total), Joseph Carvalho (3 assists total) and Jansen Harkins chipped in with a pair of helpers each.

The line of Tyler Soy, Greg Chase and Jack Walker combined for 6 points, each with a goal and assist.  Friday, the line of Alex Forsberg (2a), Brandon Magee (3g 1a) and Austin Carroll (1a) clicked for 7 points.
