...Ben may not be the only Walker on the
team this coming season. His younger brother, 16-year-old Jack, is set
to make his way to Victoria soon for camp. The younger Walker is a
defencemen who recently played for the United States U-17 team at the
Five Nations Tournament in the Czech Republic, which wrapped up on
Saturday. Should Jack, an offensive minded blue liner, make the team, it
would mean a big first for Ben.
“That would be really fun to be on the same team as him. I’ve never played with him on a team. We were supposed to play high school together, but I came here instead. That would be awesome to play together.”
Walker added, “He’s a very offensive defenceman. He’s about my height and little bit small for a defenceman, but he’s got good hands and is pretty quick. Back home as a freshman, he was running the power play and he’s a very skilled player.”
Qualities Royals’ fans have already seen from Ben.
