Fresh back from Anaheim Ducks Camp, Austin Carroll scored his first multi-goal game since he played Bantam hockey. Logan Nelson also played his first game since returning from Buffalo Sabres main camp.
Last night the Giants out shot the Royals 36-23, Vancouver went 1 for 3 on the power play while Victoria went 0 for 2 with the man advantage.
Tim Traber makes his return to the Island tonight, in his first visit since being acquired off waivers by the Giants over the summer. Traber took 2 penalties last night, and was stopped by Polivka on a short handed breakaway.
Victoria was without Steven Hodges (lower, 4-6 weeks) and Chaz Reddekopp (lower, 3-5 weeks). The Royals scratched rookie Regan Nagy, while defenseman Keegan Kanzig is still away at Calgary Flames main camp. 17 year old Landon Welykholowa played in his first WHL game.
After tonight, the Royals 3 game homestand continues with a pair against the Spokane Chiefs Tuesday and Wednesday.
