It’s the final regular season meeting of the year, with Victoria holding a 2 game to 1 advantage.  They earned a 3-2 victory New Years eve in Everett, and won 1-0 the following day at home in a shoot out courtesy of Jack Walker.

Friday night, two goals in a span of :27 seconds in the third period reclaimed a lost lead for the Silvertips in a 5-3 victory over the Royals extending Everett’s winning streak to 8 games and now have points in 11 straight games (10-0-0-1) in a potential first round matchup.

Victoria trailed 1-0 after the first and 3-1 heading into the final frame, clawed back to tie the game on goals by Mitch Skapski and Tyler Soy but suffered defeat.

Everett’s Russian rookie, Ivan Nikolishin led the way with three points on a goal and two assists, while Josh Winquist notched a pair of helpers to extend his total to 91 points this season – just two off Zach Hamill’s single-season franchise record in 2006-07.

Austin Lotz (30-18-3-2) reached the 30-win plateau for the first time in his career with a 23-save effort.  Patrik Polivka (28-12-0-2) had his personal 8 game win streak snapped, as he stopped 26 pucks while the ‘Tips outshot the Royals 31-26.  The Silvertips finished 1 for 4 on the powerplay, while Victoria was 0 for 1.

Soy ended up with a goal and assist.  Steven Hodges notched his 21st in the middle frame.

Everett remains in 6th, one point back of Spokane and Seattle who are tied for 4th.

The ‘Tips have two games remaining, against the Royals and Winterhawks, while the Chiefs have just one at the Americans.  The Thunderbirds fell to the Winterhawks Friday and have a pair of games left.

Everett is the 5th stingiest team in the league, while allowing just 14 goals against over their 8 straight wins.  It was the first time they allowed 3 goals since their last loss 11 games ago.  Victoria is the 2nd stingiest club in the ‘dub.

At home, the Silvertips are riding a 3 game win streak with points in 5 straight, holding a 6 over .500 record (19-13-2-1).  The Royals have a franchise best 26 wins on the road (26-8-0-1).

Everett has taken the 3rd fewest penalty minutes on average per game, with Victoria the 5th fewest, as the Silvertips have allowed the 2nd fewest shots against overall.

Joshua Winquist leads Everett in scoring with 91 points, 10th best in the league.  His 45 goals is a team record, previously held by Shane Harper’s 42 in 2010.  Ivan Nikolishin is 2nd in rookie scoring with 58 points and leads all freshmen in power play points with 33.

Netminder Austin Lotz has the 4th best goals against average, while playing the 5th most minutes in the league.  Lotz has started the last 11 straight.

The Royals are lead in scoring by Brandon Magee with 63 points.  Austin Carroll leads the team in goals with 34.  They have 6 players with 50 or more points.  Patrik Polivka has the 5th best goals against average, while Coleman Vollrath is 2nd, and first in Sav % (0.929).

Victoria moved up one spot to 7th in the CHL Top 10 this week, and are 7-3 in their past 10 games.
