goal in the shoot out to give the Victoria Royals a 3-2 victory over the
visiting Seattle Thunderbirds Monday night, snapping a 2 game skid. Royals Joe Hicketts and Jack Walker scored in
regulation, while Coleman Vollrath made 25 saves plus all 3 Thunderbird
shooters. Victoria takes a 2-1 season series lead and move one point up on the
Thunderbirds in the West. The Royals
look to sweep the two game set tonight at 7pm.

Greg Chase scored the only goal in the shootout as the Royals defeated
the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Monday night.
The
Royals established a 2-0 lead thanks to goals by Joe Hicketts and Jack Walker.
The Thunderbirds responded with tallies from Jerret Smith and Keegan Kolesar to
tie the game in the second period.
Victoria
netminder Coleman Vollrath made 25 saves on 27 shots and stopped all three of
the Thunderbirds’ shootout attempts in the win. Seattle countered with Logan
Flodell who stopped 21 of 23 shots before being replaced by Taran Kozun in the
shootout.
Neither
team was able to capitalize on the powerplay as the Royals went 0/2=0.0% while the Thunderbirds went 0/3=0.0%.
The
Royals conclude their regular season series against the Seattle Thunderbirds
when they clash once again tomorrow night. Puck dropped is scheduled
for 7:05 p.m. Victoria will then travel to Prince George for a two
game set against the Cougars on Friday and Saturday.
