Preview: Victoria at Lethbridge

The Victoria Royals (9-8, 18pts) visit the Lethbridge Hurricanes (10-7-1-1, 22pts) Wednesday night in the first of two meetings this season.

Pregame show at 5:45pm Pacific on The Zone @ 91.3 FM or online at www.thezone.fm.
The Royals practiced in Cranbrook Monday
Last year the Royals took 3 of 4 points from the Canes, with an 8-5 win in Victoria Dec. 9th, and a 5-4 overtime loss in Lethbridge Dec. 16th.

The Royals begin 3 games in 4 nights, in the final stretch of 7 consecutive on the road.  They’ll be in Calgary Friday and Medicine Hat Saturday.

Victoria looks to snap a 4 game slide after falling by identical 6-2 scores in Portland Friday and Saturday and losses to Kamloops and Vancouver.

Against the Winterhawks, the Royals openend the scoring in both weekend games, but could not hold off the 3rd best offense in the league.

Lethbridge is one of the hottest teams in the Eastern Conference riding a 2 game win streak and winning 7 of their last 10 contests.

Most recently, the Canes scored twice in the final 5 minutes to tie the game and eventually won 5-4 in a shootout against the visiting Saskatoon Blades Saturday.

The Hurricanes wrap up their 6 game home stand Wednesday, winning 4 and losing once in a shoot out to Vancouver.

They’re expected to reveal their 3rd jerseys against the Royals.

After Wednesday’s contest, Victoria will have reached the quarter mark of the season, playing 18 of 72 games.
