SUBWAY SUPER SERIES' VICTORIA GAME SOLD OUT
Team WHL to face Team Russia this Thursday in front of capacity crowd at
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre!

Victoria, BC – The
Victoria Royals announced on Monday that tickets to the Thursday, November 15th
SUBWAY® Super Series game at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre had officially
sold-out. Thursday will mark the sixth and final game of the SUBWAY® Super
Series as Team WHL takes on Team Russia. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
The SUBWAY® Super Series features regional teams of
CHL All-Stars competing against the Russian National Junior Team in a six-game
event serving as an integral part of the identification process for Team Canada
prior to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. The OHL hosts the
middle leg of the six-game series with the first two games hosted by the QMJHL,
and the final two games played in the WHL. Last season the CHL prevailed
with their eighth series win in nine years of this event earning a 10-8 victory
in points which included three regulation wins, two losses, and one defeat by
shootout. Team Canada later captured bronze at the 2012 World Junior
Championship in Calgary and Edmonton, AB.
Team WHL will face Team Russia in games five and six
of the series played tonight in Vancouver, BC, and tomorrow in Victoria, BC.
The first two games of the series were hosted by the QMJHL with the
OHL having hosted games three and four. Each team has won two games in
regulation time through the first four games.
The Victoria Royals return home on Friday, November 16th
following the SUBWAY® Super Series game on Thursday. After a seven-game road
trip, the Royals will begin a six-game home stand with a pair of games this
Friday and Saturday. The Everett Silvertips visit Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre
on Friday for Winter Driving Awareness Night while the Regina Pats make their
only trip to Vancouver Island the following day as Saturday night will also
mark Marty’s Birthday! Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. for both Royals’
games.

Silvertips’ defenceman Ryan Murray has been named Team WHL captain for
game five of the SUBWAY® Super Series in
Vancouver, BC. The 19-year-old from White City, SK, is playing his fourth
year with the Silvertips and was recently selected 2nd overall by
the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2012 NHL Draft. Murray is representing
Team WHL for the third straight season.
Swift Current Broncos forward Adam Lowry has
been named Team WHL captain for game six of the SUBWAY® Super
Series in Victoria, BC. The 19-year-old from Calgary, AB, is playing his
fourth year with the Broncos and was a 3rd round selection by the
Winnipeg Jets in the 2011 NHL Draft. Lowry is presenting Team WHL for the
second straight season.

(Edmonton Oil Kings) selected 4th overall by the New York Islanders
in the 2012 NHL Draft, Morgan Rielly (Moose Jaw Warriors) selected 5th
overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2012 NHL Draft and Mathew Dumba
(Red Deer Rebels) selected 7th overall by the Minnesota Wild in the
2012 NHL Draft have all been named assistant captains for Team WHL
for both games five and six, on Wednesday, November 14 in Vancouver, BC, and on Thursday,
November 15 in Victoria, BC.

The Canadian Hockey League in association with the Western Hockey League, the Vancouver Giants and Victoria Royals Hockey Clubs today announced that due to injury the Edmonton Oil Kings’ Mitch Moroz and the Regina Pats’ Trent Ouellette will be unable to participate in the 2012 SUBWAY® Super Series. Moroz was originally scheduled to play both games five and six for Team WHL, while Ouellette was slated for game five only.

scheduled to play game five in Vancouver, will now also play game six in
Victoria.
