PLAYER PROFILES:
Scott Walford |
6’0 185 lb 14yrs OHA, from Coquitlam 59 (12G 39A) 51pts, 38 pims
“A nice addition to our skill group. An offensive defenseman who likes to get the puck of the ice to support the rush. Will do a great job of allowing our transition game to pick up. Good size player that likes to crash and bang in the corners.” – Grant Armstrong, Director of Player Personnel
The Royals then acquired a 2014 2nd round pick (31st overall) from the Red Deer Rebels for ’94 born defenceman Brett Cote.
Ryan Peckford |
5-11, 174lb center who skated with the Parkland Athletic Club Saints.
Scored 60 points (28g-32a) in 33 games.
“Highly skilled centerman, really good in the faceoffs, works real hard at getting pucks to the net. He’s a little bit slippery for a guy with his size, good ability to fend off checks, supports the puck well…he’s got great hands, and as Ryan grows and gets stronger he’s going to be an offensive force.”
Brayden Pachal |
5-11, 160lb defenceman who scored 27 points (14g-13a) in 31 games with the Estevan Bruins.
“He’s got a lineage. His grandfather was a real good hockey player, and his Dad’s played the game. Another offensively gifted defenseman, real mobile, he’s got good size. He takes a lot of focus on defending as well. Good all round defenseman, plays both ends of the rink well. With his skating ability he’ll be a tremendous addition…”
