BC- The Victoria
Royals dropped an 8-2 decision to the Kamloops Blazers in the Royals’ 2014
Save-On-Foods Home Opener on Friday night.
Goaltender’s
Coleman Vollrath and Evan Smith split time in net for the Royals, while Bolton
Pouliot started in goal for the Blazers.
Kamloops
took a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play on a tally from Josh Connolly and two
goals by Deven Sideroff. The Blazers would outscore the Royals 6-2 in the
game’s final two periods. Defencemen Joe Hicketts and Jack Walker had the
markers for Victoria.
Vollrath
stopped 15 of 19 shots he faced, while Evan Smith turned away 10 of 14 shots
for the Royals. Blazers’ netminder Bolton Pouliot made 27 saves on 29 shots for
the win.
Victoria
went 0/7=0.0% with the man advantage, while Kamloops went 3/5=60.0%.
The Royals
continue their two game home-stand tomorrow evening against the Kamloops
Blazers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
