Royals would like to announce that due to the cancellation of tomorrow night’s
game vs. the Medicine Hat Tigers, the Royals will be hosting a free meet and
greet to give fans the opportunity to congratulate World Junior gold medalists
Dave Lowry and Joe Hicketts.
The meet and greet will take place at 6:00 p.m. at
Gate 1 with Dave Lowry, Joe Hicketts and the rest of the Victoria Royals
available from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Fans attending the event will have access to free hot
dogs, soft drinks and popcorn while it lasts. Also there will be a free skate
from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Any fans wanting to skate are encouraged to bring their own
skates and helmets, but can rent from the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre Skate
Shop.
Earlier today the WHL announced that the game between
the Royals and Tigers for tomorrow night has been rescheduled due to impassable
road conditions in the interior of BC. The game has now been rescheduled for
Thursday at 7:05 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Wednesday’s tickets
will be valid for Thursday’s contest.
The Medicine Hat Tigers are currently in Revelstoke,
BC and are unable to make it to Victoria due to avalanche conditions. The
Tigers have been in Revelstoke since 1:00 a.m. today and have been advised that
the earliest the highway will re-open will be sometime on Wednesday.
The Royals
return to action on Thursday to take on the seventh ranked team in the Canadian
Hockey League the Medicine Hat Tigers. Victoria will close out their seven game
homestand with a two-game series against BC Division rivals the Prince George
Cougars on Friday and Saturday. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. for all three
