SCOUTING MIDTERM RANKINGS

CALGARY, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that 51 WHL players have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in their Midterm Rankings for the 2015 NHL Draft.

CALGARY, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that 51 WHL players have been listed by NHL Central Scouting in their Midterm Rankings for the 2015 NHL Draft.
Matthew Barzal (Coquitlam, BC / Seattle Thunderbirds)
is currently ranked ninth amongst North American skaters while Ivan Provorov
(#10 – Yaroslavl, Russia / Brandon Wheat Kings), Nick Merkley (#13 – Calgary,
AB / Kelowna Rockets), Brandon Carlo (#16 – Colorado Springs, CO / Tri-City
Americans), Jansen Harkins (#18 – North Vancouver, BC / Prince George Cougars),
and Paul Bittner (#19 – Crookston, MN / Portland Winterhawks) were all ranked
in the top 20.
Nick Schneider (Leduc, AB / Medicine Hat Tigers) was
ranked eighth amongst North American goaltenders while Adin Hill (Calgary, AB /
Portland Winterhawks) followed at ninth.
Last year, 37 WHL players were selected in the NHL
Draft including nine in the first round.
