Alex Forsberg scored a hat trick while Tyler Soy had three
points to lead the Victoria Royals (24-14-1-3) past the visiting Tri City
Americans 6-2 Wednesday night to earn a split of the two game set, taking 3 of
a possible 4 points.
“We got up two goals again and didn’t want to make the
same mistake twice so we shut it down in the second period.” Said Forsberg
who leads the club in scoring with 51 points, including 17 goals.
Griffen Outhouse made 38 saves for the Royals for the win
after falling 4-3 in a shoot out one night earlier.
“We learned from what happened last night, I was proud of
the guys.” Said Interim Head Coach Enio Sacilotto who’s record improves to
5-6-0-2 in the absence of Dave Lowry.
Victoria held
period leads of 2-0 and 5-1 before exchanging goals in the third to snap a 3
game winless streak.
The Royals also got two point nights from Jack Walker with a
goal and assist, while Vladimir Bobylev and Matthew Phillips chipped in with a
pair of helpers each.
Tyler Soy had a shorthanded goal and two assists, while
Logan Fisher scored the other goal for the home team.
Soy extends his point streak to 7 games, collecting 11pts
(4g 7a) in that stretch.
Tri City
got goals from Nolan Yaremko and Morgan Geekie.
The Royals won the special teams battle going 2 for 4 on the
power play and shutting the 2nd best man advantage down on all 4
American attempts.
Tri City
goaltender Evan Sarthou made 5 saves on 7 shots, before being replaced by
Sanders in the first, who allowed 4 goals on 28 attempts.
Victoria remains

whom they’ll face next in the interior Friday and Saturday.
It’s anticipated that World Junior participants Dave Lowry,
Joe Hicketts and equipment manager Matt Auerbach will rejoin the club in Prince
George.
