That’s the way our team has to play to be successful, we were physical, capatalized on a couple of opportunities.” – Royals Head Coach Dave Lowry

Austin Carroll scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal 1:51 into the second period to open the scoring, and after the clean up, Brandon Magee notched his 13th of the season :46 seconds later for the eventual game winner.

Royals assistant coach Enio Sacilotto on the importance of notching the second goal right after the bears were cleaned up. “That delay sometimes could your momentum, but we got the second one and it didn’t hurt our momentum at all we just kept on going and I thought It was good hockey game all the way around for us.”

Carroll didn’t realize at first that he had scored, “I just shot the puck and it went right up and in.  I didn’t notice (it was a goal) until everybody was cheering infront of me.

Lowry scored his team leading 16th with under 4 minutes to go in the third on the power play to make for an interesting finish, but Patrik Polivka stood tall as the Broncos pressed with their netminder pulled.
