Preview: Victoria at Seattle

The Victoria Royals (20-17-1-2, 43pts) wrap up a 3 game road trip against the Seattle Thunderbirds (16-23-2-1, 35pts) Saturday night.

It’s their 2nd of 4 meetings this season with Victoria winning 6-2 in Seattle on December 11th.  Alex Gogolev had 2 goals and an assist, as the Royals power play struck 3 times.  120 penalty minutes were handed out – 70 to the Thunderbirds.

The Royals remain in 6th spot in the West after a 7-4 loss Friday night at Everett.  The Silvertips scored twice into an empty net to put the game out of reach.

Seattle is in 8th in the Conference and are winless in their last 12 games (0-10-1-1).  They’ve lost 5 in a row, most recently 3 straight against Spokane.

The T-birds acquired 20yr old forward Adam Kambeitz from the Blades on the trade deadline for a 4th round pick in 2014.  They also picked up 18 yr old forward Andrew Johnson from the Warriors for a 4th round pick in 2014.

After Seattle, Victoria returns home for a pair against the Kamloops Blazers Tuesday and Wednesday.
