Patrik Polivka makes one of 32 saves
“Our first 6 or 7 minutes were pretty good, we had a couple scoring chances, but after that it wasn’t very good…we just got beat in evey area tonight, I hate to say that…”
- Royals Assistant Coach Enio Sacilotto

Taylor Crunk saves a goal
Ranked 5th in the CHL, the Rockets win their 16th consecutive at home and now are 2 points clear of the Blazers for top spot in the BC Divison.

Kelowna now leads the season series 3-1 against Victoria, and will meet again at Prospera Place January 31st.

Tim Traber clears the puck while short handed

The Rockets went 2 for 4 on the power play, while the Royals struck out on just 3 chances.  Kelowna outshot Victoria 38-18.  Jordan Cooke earned his 21st win, while Patrik Polivka dropped his 9th, while stopping 32, including all 16 in the first period.

“We came out with goals - get lots of shots, get in on the forecheck, lots of time in there end, and we didn’t accomplish many of them so we’ve got to look at the video and improve upon it and get better for next time.”
- Royals Captain Tyler Stahl

Trent Lofthouse scored the lone goal for the Royals in the 3rd period for his first point with the club since being acquired from Everett 3 games ago.

The Rockets opened the scoring on the power play in the second period as Myles Bell got his 27th 1:07 in.  Just :33 seconds later, Carter Rigby would put a one-timer past Polivka to put the home team up 2-0.  Damon Severson would be sprung in alone coming out of the penalty box to score his 6th of the year, and just :58 seconds later Mackenzie Johnston’s point shot would change direction, and find it’s way over Polivka’s shoulder to give Kelowna a 4-0 lead.  Zach Franko would add his 18th on the power play with :35 seconds left in the middle frame for a 5-0 lead after 40 minutes.

After Lofthouse got the Royals on board, Ryan Olsen finished off a 3 on 2 to cap off the scoring 6-1.

Severson and Olsen had a goal and 2 assists each, while Mackenzie Johnston (1g 1a), and Tyson Baillie (2a) had 2 point nights.

Victoria continues their 3 game road trip in Everett Friday and Seattle Saturday.
