Victoria is coming off a 1-0 shut out victory in Prince George Wednesday night, earning the split and avenging the 2-0 defeat from the night before. Ben Walker scored a short handed breakaway goal for the winner, while Patrik Polivka made all 28 saves.
The Royals are now 2-1 on their 4 game road trip, which started with a win in Kelowna.
Last season Victoria was an even .500 versus Kamloops with a 4-4 record, winning two in shoot outs.
The Blazers return home after falling 3-1 on the road against the Cougars last Saturday, settling for a split in their two game set after a 5-2 victory the night before.
Last season, Kamloops won 47 games, and making it to the conference final before falling in 5 to Portland.
The Blazers have several key losses from last years club as 9 players are not returning including; F Dylan Willick, F Kale Kessy, F Brendan Ranford who all Graduated. D Joel Edmundson, F Colin Smith (COL) and F JC Lipon expected to play in AHL. D Tyler Hansen went on a Church mission, D Marek Hrbas playing pro in Czech Republic and G Cole Cheveldave was traded to the Prince Albert Raiders.
Victoria is still without Steven Hodges (lower, 4 weeks).
After the road trip, the Royals kick off a 5 game homestand with a Sunday afternoon matinee against the Americans.
