It’s the second of eight season meetings, with Kamloops winning 4-3 on home ice back on October 4th.

Victoria had their 3 game win streak snapped Saturday night in a 3-1 home loss to Seattle, settling for a split after a 2-1 overtime victory the night before.

Kamloops is winless in 5 (0-4-1-0) after falling at home to Portland 7-3 Saturday.  Specialty teams were the difference as the Winterhawks went 3-for-3 on the power play and added two shorthanded goals (6-14-2-1).  The Blazers who allowed the final 4 goals of the game, got a pair from Chase Souto.  They finished the game 2-for-4 on the power play and netminder Bolton Pouliot with 36 saves.

Kamloops wraps up their 5 game homestand, playing 10 of their last 11 at the Interior Savings Centre.  The Blazers are looking for their first win on their current stand, going (0-3-1-0).  After Tuesday nights contest, Kamloops will play 15 of their next 19 on the road.  Both clubs have played the most home games in the league with 15.

Royals netminder Coleman Vollrath (5-2-0-1) had his 3 game win streak snapped in the Saturday loss versus Seattle, but remains number one in the league in both save percentage (0.939) and goals against average (2.06).  Patrik Polivka’s (8-8) last start came November 6th in a 5-0 home loss against Edmonton.

Victoria has been without defenseman Joe Hicketts (upper, indefinitely), forward Jack Walker (illness), and defenseman Keegan Kanzig (upper, day to day) who’s missed 4 straight but has been skating with the team.  The Royals will also be without 20 year old reargaurd and Captain Jordan Fransoo (upper, 4-5 weeks).

Defenseman Jordan Thomson, 4th overall in 2011 has left the Kamloops Blazers and returned to his home in Manitoba for an undetermined time due to a personal matter.  His departure leaves the Blazers with six defenceman on their 21-man roster.

After Kamloops, Victoria plays in Kelowna Wednesday before returning home for a pair against the Blazers.
