Henrik Samuelsson had 3 points and Tristan Jarry made 21 saves help the visiting Edmonton Oil Kings (11-7-0-1, 23pts) blank the Victoria Royals 5-0 Wednesday night.

The Oil Kings led 2-0 after 20 minutes, 3-0 after 40 and added a pair in the third, while doubling the Royals (10-9-0-1, 21pts) in shots 42-21.

Samuelsson had a goal and two assists, while Reid Petryk, Mads Eller and Lane Bauer had a pair of assists each.

Jarry earned his second consecutive shutout after a 3-0 victory in Vancouver the night before.  Polivka started for Victoria stopping 15 of 18, while Coleman Vollrath kicked out 22 of 24 in relief.

While neither team scored on the power play Edmonton second goal of the night was scored short handed by Edgars Kulda.  The Oil Kings got singles from Brett Pollock, Ben Carroll and Cole Benson.

Keegan Kanzig did not return to the game after a 2nd period fight with Brandon Baddock.

Victoria native Dysin Mayo was named 3rd star for Edmonton.

The clubs will meet for a second and final time at Rexall on December 17th.

Victoria wraps up their 5 game homestand with a (1-3-0-1) record.

The Royals acquired Jake Palmer from Brandon earlier in the day but did not play, and will join the club on their two game US road swing with stops in Seattle Friday and Portland Saturday.
