Vancouver for annual Teddy Bear Toss Night.

BC- The Victoria
Royals will host their BC Division rivals the Vancouver Giants Friday, Dec.12th at 7:05 p.m. for their fourth annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by
Save-On-Foods, Capital Iron, 100.3 The Q! and The Zone @ 91.3.
Friday's game marks the last time fans can see the Royals live in action at the
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre before the Christmas Holidays. Victoria returns
home to face the Prince George Cougars on Saturday, December 27th
for Black Press Card Night and Sunday, December 28th for a skate
with the players.
TEAM
CANADA BOUND:
Victoria Royals' Head Coach Dave Lowry and defenceman Joe Hicketts are off to
Toronto, ON to join Team Canada's National Junior Team for the upcoming 2015
World Junior Championships. Lowry will be joining Scott Walker
of the Guelph Storm (Ontario Hockey League) as one of the two assistant coaches
to Head Coach Benoit Groulx of the Gatineau Olympiques (Quebec Major Junior
Hockey League). Hicketts
is one of 29 players born in 1995 or later from across Canada
that will compete for a spot on Team Canada in the National Junior Team
Selection Camp from today to December 15.
TEDDY
BEAR TRIFECTA: In
tomorrow’s fourth annual Teddy Bear Toss Night, Royals’ forward Austin Carroll
has the opportunity to go for the Teddy Bear Hat-trick. Carroll has scored the
teddy bear flying goals the previous two seasons, while former Royal Zane Jones
tallied the other marker in 2011.
FRIDAY
NIGHT – TEDDY BEAR TOSS NIGHT
Fans are encouraged to bring their new teddy bears or
other plush toys to the game and throw them on the ice after the first Royals’
goal. Toys will be distributed by 2 Burley Men Moving & Hauling to a
variety of local charities such as the Zone 91.3’s Toy Drive, the Salvation
Army and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Mini-Marty the Marmot
stuffed toys are also on sale at all three Capital Iron and all six
Save-On-Foods locations in greater Victoria leading up to Friday for $10 .00
each. Proceeds will benefit the BC Children’s Hospital.

Japan Camera will be on site at Gate 1 to take
Christmas photos with Marty the Marmot. Photos are by food or cash donation to
the Mustard Seed Food Bank.

A limited number of Mini Marty the Marmot stuffed toys
will be available to purchase upon entrance.

Capital Iron will be on site with a Christmas Light
display, and handing out coupons on entrance with lucky numbers. Fans are
encouraged to check their numbers at the Capital Iron booth at Gate 1 during
the intermissions for a chance at a prize from Evolution Lighting.

Save-On-Foods will be providing bags for fans to
protect their stuffed toys from moisture as they throw them onto the ice.
