to Everett in Pre-Season finale.

The Victoria Royals allowed a late goal in both the second
and third periods as they fell to the Everett Silvertips 3-1 in the teams’
final contest of the pre-season.
For the
third straight game Victoria dressed 11 veterans and eight rookies. Everett
iced nine veterans and 11 first year players.
The
Silvertips’ Spencer Gerth scored the game winner for the homeside with 44
seconds remaining in the middle frame, while Matt Fonteyne rounded out the
scoring with 1:08 left in the third. Devon Skoleski notched the first goal of
the game for Everett.
The Royals’
Matthew Phillips tallied the lone marker for the visiting side. His goal was
his team leading fourth of the pre-season. Phillips (4g-3a) along with Scott
Walford (1g-6a) finished the pre-season with a club high seven points in seven
games.
Victoria’s
rookie netminder Griffen Outhouse stopped 24 of 27 shots directed at him.
Everett countered with Carter Hart, who turned aside 26 out of the 27 shots he
faced on the night.
Neither
team was able to capitalize on the powerplay on four opportunities.
Victoria
scratched Regan Nagy, Matt Dykstra and Jordan Wharrie; along with regulars Joe
Hicketts, Jack Walker, Chaz Reddekopp and rookie Evan Smith who were all away
attending NHL training camps.
The Royals
finished the pre-season with a record of 3-4-0-0 in seven contests.
