BC- The Victoria
Royals are proud to announce that the team has signed 1997-born forward Ethan
Price to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Price was
listed to the Royals’ 50-man protected player list earlier this year. Each WHL
team is allowed to protect 50 players which includes individuals who have
either been signed, drafted or listed by their respective club.
“Ethan is a
strong and skilled two-way player who has experience in the WHL,” General
Manager Cameron Hope said. “We are pleased to have him join the Royals’
family.”
The product
of Lincoln, NE spent the 2014-15 campaign with the Portland Winterhawks of the
WHL and the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League (USHL). In 38
contests with the Winterhawks, Price recorded four goals and five assists to go
along with 16 minutes in penalties. Price also notched nine points (3g-6a) and
39 penalty minutes in 30 games with the Stars.
The 5’10,
180 lb Price was selected by Portland in the sixth round, 130th
overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. In two seasons with the Winterhawks,
Price tallied 17 points (8g-9a) and 46 minutes in penalties over 105 contests.

Royals are proud to announce the signing of 18-year-old forward Tyler Thompson
to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Thompson
was listed to the Royals’ 50-man protected player list earlier this year. Each
WHL team is allowed to protect 50 players which includes individuals who have
either been signed, drafted or listed by their respective club.
“Tyler is a
skilled and physical forward with good hockey sense.” General Manager Cameron
Hope said. “We are very happy to welcome Tyler and his family to the Royals’
organization.”
The 6-4,
191 lb, Thompson split the 2014-15 season with the Omaha AAA Lancers Under-18
team and the Minnesota Revolution Under-18 club of the North American Prospects
Hockey League (NAPHL). The Lakeville, MN product collected 12 points (3g-9a)
along with 54 penalty minutes in 22 games with the Lancers and Revolution.
